How to add wireless charging to the Poco X3 NFC

There’s no denying that Xiaomi is onto something with its Poco lineup of devices, and nothing was more evident of that than the Poco X3 NFC from last year. The device is a budget-friendly device sporting a 120Hz FHD+ display with 6GB of RAM, a massive 5,160mAh battery, and a quad-camera array.

Although the Poco X3 NFC is equipped with 33W fast charging to go along with the enormous battery, Xiaomi had to cut costs somewhere and did so by not including wireless charging. This is due to the build of the Poco X3 NFC, as its back is made from plastic which isn’t the best material to be used with wireless charging.

And while fast wired charging speeds are extremely great to have, even on a sub-$250 phone, there’s something to be said about the convenience of having wireless charging. Being able to throw your phone on a charger and moving on with whatever you were doing is extremely convenient. With the help of wireless charging adapters, you can bring this feature to the Poco X3 NFC even though Xiaomi thought it would be better served to be removed from the device.

 Does it work?

After you’ve found the right wireless charging adapter for your needs, it’s time to bring the feature to your own Poco X3 NFC. In order to keep the adapter in place, you’ll definitely want to make sure that you find a case, but there are plenty of great options to choose from on that front.

  1. Remove the charging adapter from its packaging.
  2. Plug the wireless charging adapter into the Poco X3 NFC’s USB-C port.
  3. Wrap the wireless charging coil around the back of the phone.
  4. Secure it in place with your favorite Poco X3 NFC case.
  5. Place the phone on a Qi wireless charger and it will start charging.

To answer the question of “does it work”, the answer is simply yes. You’re not going to see fast wireless charging speeds like something from the Xiaomi Mi 11 or OnePlus 9 Pro. However, depending on the adapter that you choose, you’ll still be able to use a wireless charger and get rid of those pesky and annoying cables for good. But as we stated previously, you’re going to want to make sure you find a case that will fit your phone and provides a little bit of wiggle room to accommodate the adapter itself.
