The Cat S42 H+ arrives later this month and is the perfect phone for germaphobes

If you’re in the market for a new and rugged smartphone, then you might want to wait just a little bit longer. The Cat S42 H+ has been announced, and while it may not blow you away with specs, there are some nifty features at hand.

The “H+” in the name refers to the Hygiene Plus technology being used here, helping to make the S42 H+ one of the most rugged and germ-free phones you can find. Cat partnered with Addmaster to bring its Biomaster silver ion technology to the S42 H+. With this in-tow, Cat’s latest smartphone sports an antimicrobial agent that prevents bacteria cells from replicating at a rate of up to 99.9% over 24 hours.

This silver ion technology also makes it possible for you to actually wash your smartphone with soap, alcohol, or bleach (with water), and not have to be worried about damaging the phone itself. In addition to the Hygiene Plus tech, the Cat S42 H+ also features IP69 water, sand, and dust rating, along with being MIL-SPEC 810H.
