AT&T adds its first 5G phone to its prepaid lineup

0

If you look at the smartphone market, there are a lot of compelling options available for those who don’t want to spend an arm and a leg, but want to experience 5G. We’ve recently reviewed options like the OnePlus Nord N10 5G, along with a few other budget-friendly phones, and the experience has been mostly positive. Motorola is another company that has rolled out a budget 5G smartphone with the Motorola One 5G Ace.

The Ace sports a massive 6.7-inch HD+ display, while being powered by the Snapdragon 750G processor and 4GB of RAM. Perhaps more impressively, Motorola packed a 5,000mAh into this bad boy, which supports up to 15W of charging speeds. Storage shouldn’t be much of an issue either, as you’ll get 64GB onboard, but can take advantage of the microSD card slot capable of supporting up to a 1TB card.

AT&T is hoping to bring 5G to more users and has officially added the One 5G Ace to its prepaid lineup of devices. This marks the first 5G-compatible phone to be offered through AT&T Prepaid, with pricing to start $129.99 for new customers who sign up for an Unlimited Plan with AutoPay. That’s a savings of $270 off of the full retail price, but even if you’re an existing AT&T Prepaid customer, you can enjoy some savings. Those who are already subscribers of AT&T Prepaid will be able to pick up the One 5G Ace for just $259.99.

While Motorola has gotten out of the flagship race, the company seems to be thriving in the budget and mid-range markets. If you look at the top smartphone sellers on Amazon, you’ll find options like the Moto E 2020, Moto G Power, and others listed amongst the likes of the Pixel 4a and Samsung Galaxy offerings. It’s great to see Motorola sticking around, even if we’ve come quite a long way since the glory days of the Moto X.
