In the past, what made a computer feel fast would be its processor and RAM. That still holds true today, but there are other ways of speeding up your computer for day-to-day tasks, and that is by using an SSD to store your files. SSDs are capable of reading and writing files much faster than traditional spinning platter HDDs, so if you want to give your system a new lease on life, getting an SSD might be a cheaper way to upgrade.
The price of SSDs are still pretty expensive compared to regular HDDs, but this Black Friday, Samsung’s 1TB SSD is currently on sale where instead of paying $200, you’ll only have to pay $100 for 1TB. Samsung boasts that its 860 EVO SSD will be capable of offering write speeds of up to 520MB/s, and read speeds of up to 550MB/s. This is an internal SSD so you’ll need to open up your PC to install it, but it is a relatively quick and painless process.
