A few months ago, Motorola took the wraps off an entry-level handset in the form of the Moto G9 Play, and interestingly enough, it seems that the company could already have a successor to the handset in the works. In a post on Voice by Steve Hemmerstoffer, he has shared renders of a new handset that could be the Moto G10 Play.
While the name cannot be confirmed, the model number of the handset is apparently XT-2117. Also, based on the renders and design of the phone, it appears to share some similarities with the Moto G9 Play, leading to speculation that this could indeed be the successor to the device, although it’s a bit strange that Motorola would release a new device this soon.
According to some of the leaked specs of the XT-2117, it is rumored to come with a 6.5-inch display of unknown resolution. The renders also reveal what appears to be a triple camera setup on the back of the phone, but the specs of the sensors currently remain unknown. The fingerprint sensor also appears to have been moved from the back of the phone to the side.
The post also mentions that the XT-2117 was recently spotted at the FCC and also received TÜV Rheinland certifications where a 4,850mAh battery was revealed. It is unclear when the phone will be announced, but the leaked renders and FCC filing does suggest that it could be soon.
