OnePlus Nord can’t compete with the Pixel 4a in camera comparison

0

The OnePlus Nord has gotten quite a bit of attention lately thanks to its quad-camera that OnePlus claims can compete with flagship-tier devices. Now, the Nord has a new mid-range competitor which is here to give its cameras a run for their money – the new Pixel 4a.

If you’re simply looking the spec sheets for these two phones, the Pixel 4a wouldn’t stand a chance against the Nord since it only has a single 12.2MP camera on the back and an 8MP sensor for its front-facing camera. By contrast, the OnePlus Nord has a 48MP main camera, 8MP ultrawide, 5MP depth sensor and 2MP macro camera on the back. On the front, the Nord also has a 32MP main camera and 8MP ultrawide, making the phone a lot more versatile than the Pixel 4a.

OnePlus Nord Review: the new category leader

When it comes to capturing video, the Pixel 4a falls short as well with 4K/30 video from the main camera and 1080p/30 video from its selfie shoot compared to 4k.30 from the rear cameras on the OnePls Nord and an incredible 4k/60 from its front-facing cameras.

However, the Pixel 4a proves that megapixels and the number of cameras you have on a phone are completely irrelevant. If all you want to do is capture the perfect moment, the Pixel 4a is the phone for the job, delivering much better images than the Nord can, even in perfect lighting. Once the sun goes down, the differences between the two are even more noticeable, especially when suing Night Sight and the front-facing camera on the Pixel.
