The Samsung Galaxy Watch 2 made our list of 5 Best Smartwatches of 2019, but thanks to a new update rolling out to the original Samsung Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active, the order devices will be getting the same user experience offered by the company’s 2019 model.
The main features included in the software update include better Bixby integration for voice commands to start workouts or set reminders, the updated touch bezel interface that Samsung introduced on this year’s smartwatch, a complete overhaul of Samsung Health with dozens of new features and new customization options which allow you to customize the watch face more easily.
- More Bixby integration: Users can now harness Bixby’s intelligence to get things done more easily by using Bixby voice to start exercise routines or control their SmartThings ecosystem
- Touch Bezel interface: For Galaxy Watch Active users, a new Touch Bezel interface will allow users to navigate the device in a rotary action with a finger swipe
- New capabilities for Samsung Health: Users can now record their lap times when tracking running or cycling activity with their devices
- Customization features: With the “My Style” watch face, users can snap a picture of their outfit for the day and the device will create a custom watch face to match
The update will rolling out now to the Samsung Galaxy Watch models in the U.S. and will soon be released in other countries as well.
