The Sony Xperia 1 smartphone was launched earlier this year at MWC 2019, and while Sony might not necessarily be a brand that comes to mind when shopping for smartphones, the company is certainly making a compelling case to purchase their flagship handset. This is because Sony has announced that pre-orders of the smartphone will come with a pair of its WH1000XM3 noise-canceling wireless headphones.
For those who are unfamiliar, Sony’s WH1000XM3 have largely been regarded as being a true competitor to Bose’s Quiet Comfort series of noise-canceling headphones. The reviews have found that the headphones not only offer up better noise-cancellation, but also better sound quality as well (although we suppose that is subjective). According to Sony:
“When you purchase the Xperia 1, during the pre-order timeframe, you will also receive WH1000XM3 Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones, a total savings of $350.”
This is not the first time that a company has throw in a pair of premium headphones with pre-orders of its smartphones. In the past, we have seen companies such as Samsung do the same, so this isn’t an unprecedented move. The Sony Xperia 1’s pre-orders will be kicking off on the 28th of June and will run for about two weeks until the phone is officially launched on the 12th of July.
As a quick recap for those who might have missed the phone’s original announcement, the Xperia 1 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, come with 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, sport a 6.5-inch OLED 4K display, a trio of 12MP rear-facing cameras, and a 3,330mAh battery.
