Could these Geekbench results be from the upcoming Galaxy S9?
If things seem quiet around these parts, that’s for good reason. We are gearing up for the myriad of devices that are about to show us who will be leading the way in 2018. Most of the devices that will be referred to as flagships in 2018 will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset from Qualcomm, which was unveiled late last year.
However, one set of devices expected to lead the way for most of the year is the Galaxy S9 lineup, which will be unveiled during a Samsung Unpacked event at MWC 2018. While we have seen a few leaks and renders which show off the devices, we may now have a better look at how the devices will actually perform.
We are expecting to see a spec bump from the Galaxy S9 lineup, with the most notable bump coming in the RAM department. While the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus both featured 4GB of RAM, Samsung upped the ante with the Galaxy Note 8 which featured 6GB of RAM out of the box. All of this means that it would not be all that surprising to see the either the Galaxy S9 or its plus-sized brethren to feature 6GB of RAM.
Since the name of the device itself has been redacted, there is a chance this could be another flagship-level device from the likes of Xiaomi or even LG. However, we’ll have to continue twiddling our thumbs until the 2018 flagship devices are officially launched.
