Unlocked HTC 10 begins receiving Android 8.0 Oreo over-the-air

0

It’s been almost 5 months since HTC first announced that devices like the HTC U11, HTC U Ultra, and the HTC 10 would be seeing an update to Android 8.0 Oreo. There was no ETA given but typically older devices get put on the back burner while most recent flagships get top priority. Those with the older HTC 10 can finally join devices like the HTC U11 in the winner’s circle. Well, some of them anyway.

The HTC 10 is now receiving Android 8.0 Oreo (software version 3.16.617.2) via an over-the-air update but only the unlocked model. Those with locked carrier models will still need to wait before the update is approved by their carrier, filled with any extra fixins, and pushed out over-the-air. No telling how long that will take, but at least you know you wont have to wait much longer. Cheers.
