Some Pixel 2 XL owners are reporting rattling speakers – how about you?

0

Another day, another issue with the Pixel 2 XL seems to have sprung up out of nowhere. A few unlucky users have discovered unfavorable vibration coming from the front facing speaker, even at lower volumes.

The issue was reported in the PIxel User Community where quite a few folks have chimed in reporting issues with distortion on their units — both the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL — even when the volume wasn’t maxed out. It really varies between devices with some users saying how it only affects only the top or bottom speaker. Others who have RMA’d their device have noted that it wasn’t always a problem on a previous device, so it’s sort of a crap shoot. To hear what an affected Pixel 2 sounds like, here’s a quick video showing it off:

I’ve tested this on my Pixel 2 XL and wasn’t able to recreate the problem, with both speakers functioned perfectly fine. Pixel User Community specialist was able to respond to complaints, but only recommended booting into Safe Mode or performing a factory reset to see if the problem persists. So far no real information about the distortion which could be yet another quality control issue.
