HMD Global brings Android Oreo to the Nokia 6 through the Nokia Beta Labs

0

Last week, we saw a new version of the Nokia 6 pass through China’s TENAA certifications, but HMD Global still has its focus on the current version of the Nokia 6. The company has started rolling out a beta program for Android Oreo for the Nokia 5, but now a new beta program has started to roll out to owners of the Nokia 6.

This move comes also after owners of the Nokia 8 have already had a taste of Oreo for some time, as that beta program has already ended. Starting today, you can head over to the Nokia Beta Labs website and sign in with your Nokia account to sign up for the beta program.

In order to sign up, you’ll need to enter your IMEI number for your specific device, and then you’ll need to enter the specific carrier that your device is registered to. From there, you’ll be registered for the Nokia Beta Labs and you’ll be able to sign up to receive the beta on your phone.

We are expecting to see the official build of Android Oreo launch in the coming weeks, so this is just a way for Nokia and HMD Global to test out any last minute bugs or kinks before rolling out to everyone. Let us know if you receive the Oreo beta and how it’s running on your device.
