AT&T has made some changes to its international roaming plans to bring it more in line with today’s modern data usage expectations. The plans still aren’t great, but they’re better than the previous offer of 200MB for $40 bucks.
You can now choose between 1GB of data for $60 a month or 3GB of data for $120 a month. These new Passport plans are available as a one-time monthly charge that expires after 30 days, but you can set up a recurring monthly charge if you frequently travel outside the country and need access to data.
For those who don’t need a full month’s worth of data access, AT&T is now offering an International Data Pass that costs $10 a day and allows you to access your domestic data, texting, and calling plan while international. That’s pretty good if you’ll only be making a few trips outside of the country on a handful of days.
