Google is slated to reveal the next generation of Pixel phones on October 4th, but a new leak has given us a peek at what to expect from the big event before it happens. We’ve had a slow drip feed of leaks and rumors surrounding the upcoming Pixel 2, especially centered around the inclusion or removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack.
Pixel 2 XL Specs – Leaked
- Curved QHD screen with 80-85% screen-to-body ratio
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 835
- 64GB or 128GB internal storage
- Dual Stereo Speakers
- No 3.5mm headphone jack
- 3,520 mAh battery
- Dual Cameras
The leaked specs also suggest that only certain markets will get the USB-C headphones included in the box, but makes note that the information hasn’t been verified.
Pixel 2 Specs – Leaked
The rumor says that the Pixel 2 will feature nearly the same design as last year’s Pixel device, with the exception of the 3.5mm headphone jack. That’s been removed in favor of dual stereo speakers, while the Pixel will feature a Full HD screen instead of the Quad HD screen on the Pixel 2 XL. The battery is also quite a bit smaller, rumored to be only 2,700mAh.
We’ll have to wait until October 4th to find out how these rumored specs measure up, but if it turns out to be true it looks like Google has completely removed the 3.5mm headphone jack for this year’s Pixel. Does that impact your desire for the newest Pixel at all? Let us know in the comments.
