It would seem as though OnePlus is gearing up to launch a special edition version of its latest device, the OnePlus 5. After TechAdvisor received a “save the date” for a collaboration event on September 19th in Paris, OnePlus confirmed that a new device would be launching on that date.

If you remember, this isn’t the first time that we’ve seen a special edition OnePlus device launched, as the Colette OnePlus 3T was unveiled in March of this year. This time, it seems that OnePlus is teaming up with French fashion design Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.
There’s no telling whether this upcoming device will just offer a new take on the OnePlus 5 with minor design changes, or if we’re looking to see something completely new and different. Regardless, we’re just a week away from the official unveiling, so be sure to check back for more information.
In the meantime, it’s important to note that there were only 250 units of the OnePlus 3T Colette edition made available. This suggests that if a special edition OnePlus 5 is in the works, it’s going to be extremely difficult to get your hands on, unless OnePlus surprises everyone with something.
