ZTE Axon Multy is a dual-screen foldable device headed to AT&T

Chinese manufacturer ZTE has been on a roll lately with its smartphone releases. The ZTE Axon 7 was a surprisingly capable flagship device with a mid-range price and comfortably went up against the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T last year. Now it looks like the company has been working on a foldable tablet that’s been dubbed the ZTE Axon Multy.

Evan Blass of Venture Beat reports that ZTE is teaming up with AT&T to debut the Axon Multy, which is a horizontal clamshell device that folds along its vertical axis. The device features two 1920 x 1080 displays that sit on the front and rear of the handset when it’s folded into its compact form. The rumor mentions the two displays folding out to meet at the hinge to form a screen that becomes 6.8″ measured diagonally.

The full spec sheet for the Axon Multy wasn’t revealed, but the device does appear to feature the Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 3,120mAh battery. It only has a single camera, but it can serve multiple functions depending on how the device is oriented. The rumor further suggests that when the Axon Multy launches in mid-October, it’ll be an AT&T exclusive for $650.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a foldable smartphone debut, but given the rumors about Samsung and LG working on something similar, we’re eager to see what ZTE has been working on. What do you think? Would you pick up one of these devices?
