The Samsung Gear Sport and Fit 2 Pro were recently announced with a new version of Tizen. Owners of the Gear S3 Class and Frontier were feeling a little left out, but it sounds like Tizen 3.0 will be making its way to those devices as well. That just leaves the Gear Fit 2 out in the rain.
One of the big new features of Tizen 3.0 is water-based tracking. Obviously, those features only work if you’re in the water, which is why the non-waterproof devices won’t get the update. We don’t know when exactly the update will start rolling out to the older devices, but it probably won’t be before the Gear Sport launch. But when it does, you can strap on your watch, hop in the pool, and track it all.
