YouTube adds an in-app messaging feature for sharing

0

Let me know if you’ve heard this before: Google has a new messaging service. This time it’s not a new app, it’s actually inside of an existing app. YouTube has a new feature that allows you to chat with friends in private threads.

Here’s how it works. The feature will be built into the YouTube share button. When you share a video with one person or a group of people, a messaging UI will appear. You and your friends can talk about the video and share more, right from the YouTube app.

This feature was previously available in Canada, but now it will be rolling out to everyone else. Most people will still share videos with their messaging app of choice, but this could be a nice option for others. Do you foresee yourself using this?
