Huawei’s Mate 10 is slated to be unveiled on October 16th

With a slew of other flagships on the horizon, one is hanging under the radar just a bit more than the others. Huawei may still be working to become an established brand here in the States, but its global presence is already quite impressive.

The company has been developing and working on its upcoming flagship with the Huawei Mate 10. You may remember that the Huawei Mate 9 was launched late last year, only to see a US release during CES, and also became one of the first devices capable of running both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

The Mate 10 is looking to build on the success of its predecessor while offering new features that bring it up to par (or surpass) with the likes of the Galaxy S8 and HTC U11. The last we heard regarding the Mate 10 was how Huawei was looking to take on the iPhone 8, along with devices such as the Galaxy Note 8 and Pixel 2 lineup. Now, we’re getting an idea as to when the Mate 10 will launch.

According to a new report, Huawei will be holding an event in Munich, Germany on October 16th, but it seems that won’t be the only device announced. The report also suggests that the Huawei Mate 10 Lite will make its debut, but there’s no information to be shared regarding that device at this time.

As for what to expect from the Mate 10, we are looking to see an edge-to-edge 6-inch display, with an aspect ratio of 2:1, similar to what we are expecting from the Galaxy Note 8 and LG V30. The device will also be powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 970 SoC which is built on the 10nm process.

Finally, pricing for the Mate 10 has been reported to start around PLN4,000 or $1,100, but it’s likely that we’ll see a lower price after proper currency conversions have been made. Pricing for the Mate 10 Lite will start at around $556, but again, it’s entirely possible that this number changes.

Let us know what you think about the Huawei Mate 10 and if you’ll be looking to see how Huawei plans to shake up the market.
