The Huawei Mate 9 was met with much fanfare when it was unveiled in the beginning of November, and it seems that Huawei is preparing to take advantage of the fanfare. It was already confirmed that the Mate 9 would be coming to the US, but now we have a better idea as to when it will be arriving. According to Evan Blass (@evleaks), Huawei will be announcing that the Mate 9 will go on sale in the US on January 6th.

The Huawei Mate 9 features a rather large 5.9-inch display, while being powered by Huawei’s latest octa-core processor and 4GB of RAM. The device also features the same dual-camera setup (12MP + 20MP) that was found on the Huawei P9, while giving users a 4,000mAh battery and Android Nougat with the EMUI skin overlay.
There is no mention as to what the Mate 9 will cost for those of us interested in the States, but it was released in Europe for €699, which translates to about $735. Unless Huawei partners with a carrier for the launch of the device, it may be tough for the Mate 9 to really catch on due to its expensive cost.
