Motorola and IndieGoGo are teaming up for more Moto Mods

Lenovo is going all-in with its Moto Mods effort for Motorola, as it is planning to release the Moto Mods Development Kit to the world in order to encourage more mod development. While the official mods can transform your phone into a camera, movie projector, speaker, or even give you an extra battery boost, Lenovo believes there’s more to be done with the Moto Mods system. That’s why they’re teaming up with crowdfunding site IndieGoGo.

The company announced a new Moto Mods Developer contest that you can enter from now until January 31st, 2016. You can share your idea for a Moto Mod in order to win a MDK and a Moto Z. Finalists from the competition will be selected by a judging panel and the winners of the contest will fly to Chicago to meet with the Moto Mods development team in order to discuss bringing the idea to life.

If you’ve got a great idea for a Moto Mod that you’d like to see reach development, you can submit your idea on the IndieGoGo website.

Lenovo is also sponsoring several Moto Mods hackathons across the country, including one in New York in December and one in San Francisco in January. People who participate in these hackathons will have the same chance to have their Moto Mods developed by the executive team and those interested can sign up at
