New Galaxy S8 rumor suggests two variants, S Voice being replaced by AI assistant

Samsung’s reputation hasn’t come away unscathed from the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, so the Galaxy S8 is going to have to be quite a device in order to rebuild customer loyalty. Galaxy S8 rumors were already flying before the Note 7 erupted into flames but it’s likely Samsung is eager to move on as more rumors about the next generation flagship have surfaced.

SamMobile is reporting a new rumor that suggests there will be two variants of the Galaxy S8. One will feature a 2K 5.1″ curved SAMOLED display, while the other will be a 5.5″ device featuring a 4K display. Additionally, the devices will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 830, while some units will feature Samsung’s Exynos 8895 processor.

Earlier this month we reported on a rumor that suggested the Galaxy S8 would feature a dual camera setup. Now sources are claiming that this dual camera setup would be exclusive to the larger version of the phones.

One other interesting thing about the rumor is that S Voice is going to be replaced with the Viv AI assistant, which means Samsung will finally have a Siri-like assistant on the device. Samsung recently acquired Viv Labs who made the AI assistant, which was founded by people who previously worked on Siri for Apple.
