Samsung has been in a lot of fire lately due to the unfortunate Galaxy Note 7 situation. Now, their own home country is upset with them. The South Korean government has asked Samsung to extend the refund period for the Note 7. Samsung had given users in South Korea until September 19th to get a refund. Anyone who tries to return the phone after that date is stuck with a replacement model.
South Korea’s technology agency has refused to approve Samsung’s recall program. They aren’t satisfied with Samsung’s plan to remove Note 7’s that have already been sold. In the U.S. there has been a very public product recall. In South Korea, there has been no government recall. Yet, the government believes Samsung hasn’t done enough to warn consumers about the defective phones.
