Samsung’s recalled Galaxy Note 7 will be off the shelves in the US for nearly a month before consumers will be able to purchase it again. VentureBeat has obtained a document that shows US carriers are planning to relaunch the device on Friday, October 21st.
This pertains only to new sales of the device and customers who are waiting for a replacement will likely get their devices much sooner, as those customers take priority over new customers. What’s interesting is that a report from Bloomberg suggests that Samsung’s rush to get the Galaxy Note 7 out into the hands of consumers may have contributed to the battery issues the handset is now experiencing.
Ironically, the new launch date for the Galaxy Note 7 also coincides with the day that the LG V20 is rumored to be available in the US.
