The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is a hot topic these days after Samsung issued a global recall last week. The recall is due to defective batteries in a small percentage of devices, but it’s dangerous enough that Samsung is recalling all devices. Lithium-ion batteries in all phones can be dangerous under certain conditions. For example, drilling a hole straight through your phone.
The dudes at Braille Skateboarding thought it would be a good idea to drill through a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge so they can connect skateboard wheels to the phone. As you might expect, the phone started smoking almost immediately after the battery was punctured. This is why a flaw in the Note 7 battery can be so dangerous. Don’t try this at home.
