One of the best budget flagships for 2016 has turned out to be the ZTE Axon 7. The device packs a pretty formidable punch, with a gorgeous design, flagship specs, and a price that rivals the OnePlus 3. ZTE has decided to build upon the Axon 7 by announcing the ZTE Axon 7 Mini at IFA 2016.
The Axon 7 Mini is the little brother to the Axon 7 in just about every way imaginable while keeping the beautiful design that the Axon 7 embodies. The device features a 5.2-inch Full HD AMOLED display while being powered by 3GB of RAM and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 617 processor.
ZTE Axon Mini 7 Specs:
- 5.2-inch Full HD AMOLED display
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor
- 3GB RAM
- 32GB Storage expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD
- 16MP rear-facing camera
- 8MP front-facing camera
- 2,705mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 capabilities
- USB Type-C charging port
The biggest selling point for the Axon 7 Mini, other than its price, seems to be the audio quality. The Axon 7 Mini features a dual-facing stereo speaker setup, which is rapidly disappearing on new devices today. ZTE also collaborated with various audio associations to help bring an awesome sounding device to our hands. In fact, the Axon 8 Mini can provide a “movie theater 7.1 surround sound-like experience” thanks to the inclusion of Dolby’s Atmos technology.
The ZTE Axon 7 Mini will be hitting the market in several global markets in September while being priced at €299, and will be available in either Ion Gold or Platinum Grey. Although the device will also be coming to the US at some point, pricing and availability have yet to be announced.
