A new FCC filing shows that NVIDIA is working on a new Shield TV. The first generation Shield TV was released last summer and has gone through a few software updates to bring more features to users.
Now a new version seems to be in the works and will again be powered by Android TV. However, the official filing lists the new Shield as an “Android TV Game Console” which would suggest that NVIDIA is looking to promote this as a gaming console powered by Android. Not much else is known about
Last week, a new Game Controller and Shield Remote also passed through the FCC leading us to believe that we are in store for a new version in the coming months. It would probably be likely to see a new NVIDIA Shield TV in time for the Holidays.
