Was the Moto Z Play just outed by Geekbench?

0

A mysterious new device has made on appearance on Geekbench’s website. Listed as the Motorola XT1635-01, the smartphone appears to be a dead ringer for the yet-unannounced Motorola Moto Z Play. The Geekbench listing shows that the Motorola XT1635-01 is running on Android 6.0.1 and is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 (msm8953) processor and 3GB of RAM.

While there hasn’t been a lot of buzz surrounding the Moto Z Play, a few rumors have suggested that the upcoming device will be equipped with a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 16 MP camera on the back, 5MP front-facing camera and a 3,600mAh battery. It wouldn’t be too hard to imagine that Motorola would give the Moto Z Play the same basic design as the Moto Z so that it would be compatible with the flagship phone’s Moto Mods. Since the Moto Z Play has a lower resolution display and less-powerful processor, it could be the device of choice for those who want to save a bit of cash so that they don’t break the bank buying Moto Mods
