We have little doubt Samsung will cram only the best possible hardware in this year’s Galaxy Note. Some call it the South Korean manufacturer’s true flagship device, with Samsung equipping the phone with better hardware than even their own Galaxy S series. This probably has more to do with the phone launching later in the year, giving Samsung a little extra time to give the phone more advanced hardware.
Every year, it seems Samsung tries to get the device out a little earlier than previous ones, with this year likely being no exception. According to @evleaks, we’re now t-minus 2 months away from this year’s Galaxy Note being official. In his tweet he mentions that the launch event will likely take place in early August, a few weeks earlier than last year’s Galaxy Note 5. If an early launch event is any indication, it would make sense to assume the actual release date of the phone will land sooner in the calendar as well (the Note 5 was made available on August 21st in the US).
It’s also interesting that @evleaks is calling it the “Galaxy Note 6/7,” seemingly not committing to rumors that Samsung could be skipping the 6 number entirely in an effort to bring things in line with the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. Then again, we don’t know if this is coming from his own sources, or if he’s just basing it off the rumor mill.
In any case, if you were hoping to get your hands on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 (or whatever they end up calling it), you might not have to wait much longer.
