Mekorama is easiest described as a mix between Monument Valley and Minecraft. It has the 3D puzzles of Monument Valley, but with the design and creation tools of Minecraft. Although it has a lot in common with other games, Mekorama stands on its own as a great game.
Every level looks like a miniature 3D model. You can move the camera around to change your perspective, which is necessary to solve the puzzles. The goal is to get your tiny robot to the portal, but to do so you’ll be tasked with finding your way through multiple obstacles. Simply tap a spot and the robot will move to it.
The levels start as basic 3D mazes. All you have to do is find the correct path to the portal. As the game progresses the puzzles get more difficult. Moving parts and enemies are introduced. You’ll need to exercise your problem-solving skills to complete the levels.
Mekorama comes with a bunch of pre-built levels, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Users can create and share their own levels. You can use the scanner to scan QR codes from levels that other people have made. Just search for #mekorama and you have a wealth of new levels to enjoy.
Creating levels is very reminiscent of Minecraft. Simply tap an area to drop a block or object. You can get as simple or as complicated as you want. Mekorama is free to download, but if you’d like to support the developer there is a “Pay What You Want” option.
