Mercedes-Benz is now part of the Open Automotive Alliance, and the wait for Android Auto begins

Mercedes-Benz has finally added their name to the list of automotive manufacturers who are part of the Open Automotive Alliance. The manufacturer was one of 2 German-bred companies notably missing from the group. The other is BMW.

So, what does this mean? It means Mercedes-Benz is going to start adding Android Auto to their cars at some point. We’re not sure when, exactly, and their plans for doing so (like potential upgrades for recent buyers or which models will get it) are vastly unknown. But it’s happening, so if you plan on getting a Mercedes-Benz car soon you may want to hold off if Android Auto is something you’re interested in.
