Someone stuck a Chromecast inside an old 70s television for a perfectly retro viewing experience [VIDEO]

The Chromecast is easily one of the most used devices in my home and if you’re anything like me, you love watching crisp, clear HD content on the best screen in your house: your television. While a 65-inch LCD TV is all fine and dandy, what if you could relive the days of yesteryear when you’d wake up early to watch Saturday morning cartoons (anyone remember the Snorks?) on that dusty old television set you had in your family for generations. You know, before “the remote” was even invented and you had to get up to flip the channel like an animal.

Feeling nostalgic for days past, YouTuber Dr. Moddnstine outfitted an old 70s television he found laying around with a modern day Chromecast and simply put — the results are amazing. He didn’t just leave the dongle handing off the back either, the Chromecast is completely integrated inside the TV where it’s also drawing power, giving the television a seamless, perfectly retro look.

Another neat addition, was an aux input he added to hook up the television to his old-school speaker system, completing the look. It’s almost inspiring and we only wish we were able to build our own. To see it for yourself, check out the video embedded at the top of the post and for a more lengthy 30-minute video on how he put it all together, you can check that out down below.
