We’ve been following along closely with rumors about the Nintendo NX console. Last summer, there was a rumor that the NX could be based on Android, which obviously peaked our interest. Nintendo immediately denied the rumors, but our interest in this console has not died. It may not run Android, but a new rumor suggests it will interact with smartphones.
According to a tweet by Takashi Mochizuki, a tech reporter for The Wall Street Journal, the Nintendo NX may work with smartphones, PCs, and even other consoles. Nintendo is working on a new account service, which would lend credence to this rumor. Currently, your purchases are tied to the respective Nintendo hardware. Microsoft and Sony sync your purchases to an account that can be accessed anywhere.
Very interesting report by @gibbogame: Nintendo’s NX may work with smartphones, PCs and even rival consoles such as PlayStation4.

It makes sense that Nintentendo would want the new console to work with smartphones. You could access your Nintendo account with a companion app. Nintendo has been slow to adopt support for smartphones in general, so we would love to see their next console embrace the devices we carry every day. Are you interested in the Nintendo NX?
