We’re not sure who’d be interested, but Best Buy is now selling the Motorola Moto G 2014 (also known as the 2nd Gen model) for a cool $100. That’s a full $50 off from the normal asking price, making it quite a deal for some folks — but not all.
Although the Best Buy listing is showing 4G connectivity, it seems they could be using US carrier terminology meaning HSPA+ and not actual 4G LTE. Motorola is actually offering the phone for the same price if you want to buy it directly from them and they seem to correctly list it as 3G HSPA+. It’s GSM unlocked, which means the phone will play nice with both AT&T and T-Mobile 3G networks.
Also worth considering is that with 8GB of internal memory, the phone might be more of a headache than its worth. While there is a micro SD card slot for moving some apps and media, not every app supports this functionality. Android 6.0 Marshmallow should largely help with this, adding the ability to set SD cards as internal memory, but you’ll need to wait for that hit sometime in the future.
