OnePlus 2 OxygenOS 22 update

Just in time for Christmas, the folks at OnePlus are gifting one final update for the OnePlus 2 as we head into the new year. The update — rolling out to devices as OxygenOS 2.2.0 starting today — is, admittedly, light on new features, but there’s enough fixes that users are sure to appreciate the big new maintenance release.

The most noteworthy new feature is added support for more formats when it comes to USB on-the-go accessories, all welcome additions for sure. Here’s what else is new from the changelog posted in the official OnePlus forum.

  • Fixed dual SIM preference selection issues in settings
  • Added NTFS and exFAT support for OTG
  • Fixed Google Camera photo-sphere and panorama bugs
  • Screen temperature can now be adjusted from quick settings
  • Added hide search bar option in launcher settings
  • Security patches
  • Holiday wallpapers
  • General bug fixes and optimizations

With every passing update, OnePlus 2 continues to hold its ground as one of the better values in Android. Once again, the new software rollout is “incremental,” so if you don’t see it yet just keep checking back. It’ll get there.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.
