Hangouts new web UI update

It’s not the improved Android experience many of you are still waiting for, but an update to Google Hangouts on the web is rolling out right now. Announced on Google+, Hangouts is receiving a face lift with a more “streamlined” web UI, along with improvements to video quality and other tweaks. Here’s what’s new:

  • Calls that start faster and stay crisper, with higher quality video
  • A more streamlined and immersive full-screen interface
  • A simpler way to invite friends and family to your calls

The update is rolling out today for a lucky few, with a wider global rollout in the coming days. For those that fear change or don’t find them to their tastes, Google is even allowing users to rollback the by going to http://g.co/hangouts on their web browser. Oh, and one more thing. Google says the changes are not available for Google Apps for Work customers.
