We’ve got good news and bad news. Let’s start with the good news.
Nintendo CEO Kimishima finally announced some details about their upcoming mobile game. Their first mobile game is going to be called Miitomo (which means Mii Friends). The game is all about Mii interactions. Your avatar will interact with others, sometimes even on its own. It’s sort of like Tamagotchi. The game will be free to play, but will include in-app purchases. Nintendo already said they won’t have unreasonable in-app purchases. Hopefully they stick to that.
Now for the bad news.
Nintendo has already delayed the game until March 2016. This is a pretty big bummer, especially considering how long we’ve been waiting. Nintendo plans to launch five mobile games in total before March 2017. The games following Miitomo will not be free to play. This might not be the game people were hoping for when Nintendo announced plans to create mobile games, but it’s a start.
