We’ve already gotten a few good looks at the HTC One A9 from various leaks and whatnot (including photos of a retail dummy unit) and now Orange France is spilling the beans ahead of HTC’s October 20th event. The French carrier already has a listing for the device, although it seems to be a bit premature as there aren’t any detailed hardware specs or software features.
What we do get to see are a few high-res renders of the One A9, along with the possible full price of the device in Europe: 599.90€ (roughly about
$688.62). We’re still not sure if that price is final or just a place holder, but we’d be lying if we said we weren’t hoping for something a little more affordable given the device’s mid-range-ish specs. Here’s what we expect to see when the phone is made official:
HTC One A9 specs (rumored)
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 617
- 5-inch 1080p AMOLED display
- 16GB internal storage with micro SD card slot
- 2GB RAM
- 4MP (UltraPixel) front facing camera
- 13MP rear camera with OIS BSI sensor
- Fingerprint reader
- Metal build ~7mm thin
- 6 available colors
The real question is if this device will have what it takes to turn things around for the company, or if we’ll have to wait until next year’s HTC One M10 before the manufacturer offers something truly compelling. In the meantime, we’re just crossing our fingers HTC brought the pain with this new camera. We’ll find out more after their October 20th event in New York.
