A few weeks ago Android developer Chris Lacy announced that he was selling his popular app Link Bubble to a new startup. Now officially under new management (the developer is simply named “Link Bubble”), the app is now officially going free in the Google Play Store.

While it’s true there was always a free version, it’s only today that the Pro version is totally free. What this means for you is that all those paid features — which ran around $5 to unlock — are now available for nothing. Here are the premium features you’ll now find available in the free version:

  • An infinite number of bubbles (tabs)
  • Themes base on website color
  • Article mode
  • Article mode for Android wear

We know, Link Bubble Premium didn’t exactly come cheap. In fact, it was one of the more expensive applications found on Google Play. But the all new Link Bubble Browser wants to make amends by offering anyone who purchased the Pro version after August 4th 2015 (the day Link Bubble was officially acquired), a full refund. Simply drop them a line at [email protected] along with your transaction ID and be on your way. Then take that $5 and spend it on more goodies in the Play Store.

If you still haven’t given it a shot, now would be a great time to download Link Bubble Browser. It is free, after all.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.
