Little Worlds watch face makes clever use of the Moto 360’s flat tire bezel

Motorola’s “flat tire” bezel on the Moto 360 has been the subject of many jokes, but instead of rejecting that component of the watch like a bastardized step child, why not put it to some interesting use? This “Minimal and Elegant” watch face by Studio eXtreme does just that with its cool Little Worlds feature.

What it does is simple: it uses the flat tire as the foundation for a silhouette of a city skyline, flowers on a hill or any other cool little thing you could think of (it’s entirely customizable). The watch face itself is well-designed, to boot, so the $.99 you’ll need to spend to get it seems well worth it.

Give it a download if you’re tired of the flat tire being little more than an ugly blemish on an otherwise beautiful device. Oh, and Motorola: this is no excuse to keep the flat tire on your next round smart watch. We want this thing gone.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. Been using this for almost two weeks and I love it. If you want the Little Worlds as shown above, make sure you join the beta community here: http://goo.gl/6mReUP

    1. Derek – you rocks! :-)

  2. This gives Apple’s “eye for details” a run for its money.. This is just clever..now I want the Moto360 with the flat tire bezel…

  3. cool ass idea

  4. I only ocassionally notice the tire because notifications have straight lines that parallel the tire. I like an ambient light sensor enough to live with the tire until a solution is found for a light sensor and tiny bezel to live together.

I do wonder if a lens and reflector could be built into the side button to allow a sensor under it that can detect the brightness of light in the environment…then we could keep the tiny bezel and the light sensor.

  5. Anyone know what strap that is?

    1. Yes, it’s made by a polish company: PATTINI.

      1. Darn you Derek!!! U are an Android Fanboy!!! To the point its scarying me!!!!

  6. This is why you make watches with square/rectangle faces. You can use ALL of the space. No hack – though this is very cool – is needed.

    1. Considering nearly all dumb/basic timepieces/watches are round, that should be the norm. I also have yet to see a bezel-less square/rectangle design, all manufacturers love throwing bezel around. At least with the proximity sensor it’s actually functional.

    2. I prefer the round Moto 360, in it’s current form to all other square/rectangle faced smartwatches. And I haven’t downloaded this watchface. No hack required.

    3. except that there are round watches where you can use all the face, and square watches look like crap.

  7. I downloaded this and it seemed to eat my battery.

  8. I got it, I like it. One of my top 3 faces. People giving it a 1 star rating because they can’t find it. Too stupid to open the android wear app.
