After learning that Sprint would begin rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop to the HTC One (M7), the #3 largest carrier in the US is now turning their sights to the Samsung Galaxy S5. According to Samsung’s FAQ page here, the Galaxy S5 is set to receive Android 5.0 Lollipop (software build G900PVPU1AOA6) as early as tomorrow, February 5th.
They didn’t really go into much detail in their changelog, only listing off Android OS update to v5.0 Lollipop (duh), Enhanced VoWiFi UI, and “Lumen tool bar removed.” Better than nothing, we suppose. As someone who sells phones in a retail store, the lumen toolbar can just…. die.
Got it! UI not bad looking. Fastest OTA Update Rollout yet.
Still amazed that Verizon got it first. Not complaining and happy for Verizon volk, but still – pretty big surprise.
Anyway, congrats on your update!
Guess the holdouts are AT&T and T-mo?
AT&T being dead last more than likely… the S5 is JUST NOW getting 4.4.4 on AT&T, smh.
I’m not on Sprint, so hopefully 5.0 will come out this month.
