Some of HTC’s One M8 models have already received Android 5.0 Lollipop — including the Google Play Edition and the Developer Edition / unlocked models — but what about the rest of the pack? A newly-leaked release schedule could shed some light on HTC’s plans for updating most phones in their roster to the latest version of Android.

htc update chart rumored

It’s our understanding that the numbers in the chart above correlate to months instead of quarters, so that would break it down like so:

January

  • HTC One M8 (already rolling out)
  • HTC One M7

February

  • HTC One E8
  • HTC Desire EYE
  • HTC One M8 EYE
  • HTC Butterfly 2

March

  • HTC One Max
  • HTC M7 Dual SIM
  • HTC Desire 816
  • HTC Desire 820u
  • HTC One M8 Mini
  • HTC One E8 (China)
  • HTC One M8 EYE (China)

March or April

  • HTC One M8 Mini (UL)
  • HTC Desire 610
  • HTC Desire 820s
  • HTC Desire 510
  • HTC One Mini

This is just a rumor, of course, and if it’s true then it’s important to remember that exact rollout dates will always vary from region to region and carrier to carrier. It’s safest to assume that unlocked models will always get it soonest, while carrier variants might take a while longer.

That said, it’s nice to get an early look at HTC’s upgrade plans and it looks like they have all bases covered for many of their most recent smartphones. In the meantime be sure to check out an early look at what to expect from HTC once your device receives the upgrade.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.
