Update Wednesday indeed. Factory images for Android 5.0.1 on the Nexus 6 and Nexus 4 have just gone live on the Google Developers site. Listed as build LRX22C, anyone that doesn’t feel like wiping their entire device to get on the latest Android device should sit tight. We expect an over-the-air update will commence shortly (as it so often does).

UPDATE: Oh, there it is… OTA download links provided here if anyone wants to sideload.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  1. should I wait for AT&T to release the update my way? how do i flash this exactly?? is it the same as flashing a custom rom?

    1. Not the same as flashing a custom ROM. You can flash each partition through fastboot if you desire – however.. if you flash userdata.img, you’ll get wiped. If you are unfamiliar with the flashing process – I’d recommend waiting until your carrier releases the update to you or flashing a custom ROM that already has this baked in, which most if not all should already.

      1. I got flash-happy with my G3….I swore to stay stock this time around. I am just going to wait for AT&T to be nice and wait for the official bloat-filled update :) thanks for your response

        1. I can’t imagine it will be long, tbh.

  2. so N5 is coming in last [if at all]? so sad.

    1. This has to be evidence that the N5 has some serious issues still.

    2. whiner

  3. I’m starting to hate my OPO since I have yet to even get 5.0

    1. That’s a pretty lame reason to hate your phone

      1. Hate was a strong word, dislike. And I said I was getting there, not there yet.

I’m spoiled by having Nexus for the past 2 years until Cyanogen reeled me away to which I thought were greener pastures.

  4. Is there a change/fix log..??

  5. Where’s the N5 update? Have they said when it coming or why it’s not out when the N4 is?

  6. I can’t wait for the N5 update, my battery life is terrible with 5.0……..
