OnePlus to offer second pre-order opportunity on November 17th

OnePlus One pre-sales went up for about three hours this past Monday. The window of availability was originally set to one hour, but server issues made it difficult for many folks to complete their orders and found themselves ultimately shut out. This caused OnePlus to extend the window, but even that wasn’t enough to help everyone who was willing and able to pre-order the device.

Fortunately OnePlus says they’re planning a second pre-sale event on November 17th for those who didn’t get a chance to get in on the fun. According to a forum post on their official site, OnePlus will be taking the time between these two opportunities to shore up their servers and make sure no one runs into any issues the next time around.

There still seems to be high demand for the phone through this method as the company was able to rack up at least 20,000 pre-orders within the first 30-45 minutes. They imagine they could have sold even more had their servers worked properly.

The new opportunity will go live at 15:00 GMT (about 10am eastern) on the aforementioned November 17th date, so be sure to set a reminder (though we’ll certainly be posting a friendly reminder of our own when the date comes). Let us know if you were one of the unlucky few affected by server issues.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. Who cares!!! This phone and company is old news… Enough already. And on top of that basically a month later is when you plan on this “fix”. This company really is a joke. This is coming from somebody who has already had over 5 invites so far.

    1. How did you get 5 invites?

      1. I was one of the first to join their site. But I got the G3 before I got my first invite and just never wanted to buy it after I got my hands on this amazing phone. But from contests to early entry are the reasons.

  2. How do they manage to screw up every step? I mean every step.

  3. You keep on giving free advertising to these hucksters and playing into their hands by posting about everything they do. Any real company would have gotten their act in order long ago, and not continue with these shenanigans. This stuff should be meeting a wall of silence from sites like yours, not get headlined with articles.

    1. Totally agree!! Nothing but empty promises from this company. They stated originally by the end of July to August everybody was suppose to have one in their possession the ones that wanted one. But here it is 4 months later and they still cant even get a simple preorder system to act right. Smh. Pitiful

    2. Thank you!!

    3. give them a billion dollars and they’ll get right on it.

  4. Yo, OPO, I’m really happy for you, I’ma let you finish, but Moto has one of the best phones of all time! One of the best phones of all time!

    1. Nice play on the Kanye speech.

  5. I was lucky enough to get an invite pretty early and I love the phone but these guys are a joke. Ifnthey could produce phones half as well as they can manipulate social media and Android blogs they would be an amazing company. As it stands they can’t even do a pre-order months after the phone had been out. I watched a coworker try to get a pre-order and it was a fiasco.

  6. What time is the Nexus 6 ordering begin? No one should care about CRAPPY company and their announcements.

    1. Nexus 6 already sold out lol

  7. I guess not enough people ordered during the first round.

  8. Its ok to create a buzz initially to get some interest, but come on, this cant go on for months at a time. My philosophy is straight forward, If you want my business, you have to beg, borrow and convince me to give you business, and not the other way around. I am paying you, you do the dancing and entertain me. Or you are Apple which has done enough in the past to warrant such interest from consumers, and even they dont do this crap. Anyway, till the time you have a smooth process for me get your phone, adios.

  9. Unless they drop a new phone and pull their stuff together soon, they’re dead to me.

  10. ONE+ has already pulled a Sinclair, because they have announced that the ONE+ 2 is soon to be out… like next year, if memory serves. Why try to get this one, when something better is definitely around the corner?! #facts!

    1. This and the fact that the 1+1 no longer has the best specs makes buying the 1+1 now just silly.

  11. Well, hopefully they don’t make the same mistake and only have a 1 hour window. How about a full day and then the servers and people won’t have to go crazy????

    1. Hopefully they’ll just admit they can’t do anything right and just pack it in. OnePlus started with a great idea, high-end specs, low price (probably too low), and pure Cyanogen. But they’ve failed at every turn and squandered all the good press they had.

  12. Someday One+ will be a business school case study. As in “Here’s how to take a good idea and totally screw it up”. I question if they will even last long enough to roll out a One+ 2

  13. My love for OnePlus is no more.

  14. I’ve had my 1+1 a month it’s a great phone and for the price offered off contract I can’t complain.
