Samsung is about to bring some serious heat to the smartphone world once IFA kicks off next month, with the South Korean company expected to announce the next iteration of their popular Galaxy Note lineup. It looks like LG could have something to say about that themselves if the latest leaks are anything to go by.

An “LG G3 Stylus” has been leaked in an official online product video, giving us a look at a phone with an even bigger profile than the 5.5-inch LG G3. As its name implies, the device (pictured to the far right in the image above) is poised to come with a stylus for various needs, including multi-tasking, artwork or drawing special characters in languages where writing it is more natural than typing.

We don’t know much about the phone’s specs, but we don’t expect it to one-up the LG G3 as the Note often does the Galaxy S. It might not even live up to Galaxy S5 standards with murmurings suggesting it won’t get much more than qHD (960 x 540) resolution. Speculation isn’t quite that useful without any hard evidence, though, so we’ll just have to wait for more details to leak into the atmosphere before we see where exactly LG is headed with this thing.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. LG has a lot of work to do to come up with a true Note competitor. It’s much more going on with the Note than simply a “stylus.” You have the ability to create thank you cards, baby diaries with pictures, charts (pie, graph, and line), recipe cards ect. The Note is really more awesome than it what it gets credit for. It’s a great productivity tool. Sammy slaps some silly features into their phones, but also lots of really great features.

  2. I kind of wish my g3 had a stylus sometimes, but Im not sure if I would use it everyday, I always struggle with writing on touch screens.

    1. I would trade the stylus for the extra battery life any day.

  3. Is it really a leak if it’s “an official online product video”? Looks to me like an official product preview or an official product tease.

  4. If it comes with micro USB 3.0 and wireless charging built in then I’d jump ship ASAP

  5. Too bad Samsung will have the better software and hardware for the casual Android user.

    1. I’ve never heard anyone praise Samsung’s software non-sarcastically

  6. Wait. You think a bigger than 5.5in display trying to compete with the note4 will only have qHD?? You’re dumb and misinformed my friend.

  7. No way it’ll have qHD, it’ll at least be 1280 x 720 like the Beat. People thought Verizon’s G3 Vista had qHD specs because of a mistake on their website.

  8. LG’s smart to make a separate stylus version of their G3 (except the part about the gimped resolution), seeing as most polls have shown that around 80% of Galaxy Note owners rarely or never use the SPen.

  9. Wow they really do have to copy everything Samsung does

    1. There’s nothing wrong with copying people. It’s when you copy someone and say your version is the first. LoL!!

  10. If it has as good, if not better specs, than the current G3…I will change over to the G3 Stylus as my daily driver. I love what LG has been doing with their designs and the smaller physical form factor is amazing, while having a 5.5 screen.

  11. Note 4 competitor? The Note 3 came out almost a year ago and theres barely any competitors for it yet… the Note 4 will most likely rule until the Note 5 appears and, so far, there’s no evidence out there that things will change anytime soon…
