Rumors of a Sony Xperia Z3 are escalating after a few images of the alleged device popped up on a Chinese forum. Showing what is clearly labeled as a prototype device, a sticker on the device urges its user to NOT take picture of, with, or use benchmarking apps while using the phone. Top secret stuff, ya know.
One screenshot shows the device powered by a Snapdragon 801 processor and running on Android 4.4.4. As so often is the case with Sony’s flagships, it’s very difficult to tell this apart from previous models. It’s clear they’re using a similar 20.7MP shooter on the rear but exactly what Sony plans on packing under the hood to 1-up the already stellar Sony Xperia Z2 is anyone’s guess.
It’s possible we could see an official unveiling of the device during IFA 2014 kicking off in September. Let’s hope Sony has plans to actually release this device stateside sometime this year.

This could be our first good look at the Sony Xperia Z3, multiple images show Sony’s familiar design language: Big Bezels
…more like premium glass and metal. Love my Sony Z Ultra. Makes a two-tone, remote control shaped certain phone look and feel like a brick.
probably the closest anyone in the US will come to seeing one.
or if it comes here they will make it exclusive on one of the carriers like the idiots they are
By “design language” do you mean large top and bottom bezels?
THIS … is going to be my next phone.
I only wish Sony unlocked bootloaders too. I’m gonna miss it when I dump my N5 for Z3.
TechRadar recently named the Xperia Z2 the second-best smartphone, well ahead of Samsung or LG, so the Z3 could seal the deal. They just need to differentiate the phone in the minds of consumers…and it seems all people care about these days are selfies. Sony just announced the C3, optimized for selfies, but it should put its wide-angle lens camera in the Z3 as well.
