Nexus 10 32GB now out of stock on Google Play; refresh coming soon?

nexus 10 32gb inventory

Back in late October, we all noticed the 16GB Nexus 10 was “out of inventory.” This was a different message than the typical “out of stock” or “ships in 1-2 weeks” message we’re used to, which had us believing that the device wouldn’t return. Sure enough, it’s been a couple of months and it still isn’t available for sale in the Google Play Store.

The 32GB Nexus 10 was still available, but that might have changed as of this morning. Google has now changed its listing to the same “out of inventory” message that the 16GB message got a couple of months ago. While this is by no means hard confirmation that the device’s stock won’t be replenished, we wouldn’t count on a big refill anytime soon.

The Nexus 10 has been available since 2012, and it has definitely run its course. We expected to see a refresh right around the same time as the Nexus 5, but that never happened. Original rumors reported Samsung would reprise their role as the manufacturer of the device, but we later learned ASUS was a good bet to take over the reigns. It wouldn’t be a bad idea considering ASUS commands one of the finest lineups of tablets in the industry.

We’re not sure how close we are to a refresh, but if the current Nexus 10 stays out of stock in the Google Play Store there’s a good chance we’ll be seeing it at some point in the very near future. We’ll keep monitoring the Google Play store to see if anything changes.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. All I know is that the Nexus 10 needs a hardware upgrade and it’s overdue. Way too late for those needing a bigger screen.

  2. I’d definitely buy it. Just imagining it brought a tear to my eye

  3. I saw that too. I didn’t pay attention that it said “Out of inventory”, though. Hmm…

Google does have an odd way of foreshadowing.

  4. I’m definitely ready for a refresh. My current Nexus 10 has given me my monies worth.

    1. Same here. Most underrsted/underappreciated Android device ever, IMO.

Too bad they overpriced the 32GB N10 by so much ($100) in comparison to the 16GB SKU. It would have sold a LOT better if they could have offered a $450 32GB N10 for less than a 16GB iPad 4, had better retail presence/demo units AND included the POGO USB cable in the box.

  5. I’m waiting for a Nexus 10 2 to come out so I can find a Nexus 10 on sale.

  6. GIVE ME A BREAK.. one second there.. next second gone.. Google make up your mind and give me my Nexus 10 2… with LTE PLEASE!!!

  7. C’mon Google, let’s see a Surface competitor. Give me a good reason to not buy a Windows 8 tablet/laptop. PLEASE

  8. Hmmmm, potential anniversary gift? I think so!

  9. FYI everyone…. Amazon.com is showing only 1 of each version of the tablet now in stock.

  10. Anyone considered that Google might have just dropped the idea of a 10-inch tablet altogether?

    1. With the removal of the tablet interface in KitKat I’m afraid that may be a possibility.

      1. When you say removed, are we talking “unification” like 4.2 or 4.3 offered?

  11. I cant wait till the update comes out.
Not because i want the new 10 incher.

Cause i want the old one. Its still a great tablet and for my useage (media consumption), i cant wait to pick one up dirt cheap on ebay once people start to unload them to get the new one

  12. Bought a refurb Nexus 10 (2012) for an inlaw with bad eyes. Great device, but 10″ is just too big and unwieldy for my or my wife’s most common use cases: reading in portrait + controlling Chromecast on the couch, or watching video in orientation-locked landscape mode on our sides in bed.

Looking to upgrade our old Nexus 7 (2012) as soon as a worthy 8.X”er is available. The LG GPad 8.3 is soooo close, but not quite. Hoping for a Nexus 8.

    1. The Nexus 7 2013 is a great device and its leaps and bounds better than the n7 2012. I’ve owned both and I still use the nexus 7 2013

  13. This happened with the nexus 4 if you remember. They went out of inventory and shortly after the N5 was being sold on the play store. Just have some patience and you’ll see the new nexus 10 soon.
