Despite things not turning out so well the last time we saw an HP-built smartphone, the manufacturer might have plans to reenter the space. According The Information — an online publication who prides themselves on getting the “inside scoop” on tech news — HP could be planning to soon release a new phablet line before the end of the year.
These big-screened smartphones would feature display sizes of 6 and 7 inches, just don’t expect Galaxy Note-like prices. Apparently, HP’s gunning for emerging markets with these big fellas, slated for release in countries like India, China, and the Philippines, at a price point between $200 and $250.
While there wasn’t any word that these devices would actually feature Android as their operating system of choice, we think it only makes sense given the recently released HP Slate tabs rocking Jelly Bean.

I miss Palm and WebOS…
Awesome, nothing but good things come from this sort of competition.
Who cares…..?
Bring back WebOS
Every he product I have owned has been solid I would like to see them as a android contender
Any rumor about spec?
Okay, what? By the end of the year? I’m guessing you’re meaning next year? Or do they actually have something to show within the next few days? LoL!!
And a 7 inch phone? I’m imagining the Nexus 7 and that thing is not phone worthy. =.S
