Aside from a shiny new Nexus 5 handset expected to be unveiled later this year, it’s also time for Google to refresh the aging Nexus 10. Previously contracted by Samsung, it seems Google could be turning to the maker of their current 7-inch tablet, the ASUS Nexus 7. Outed in UK retailer PCWorld’s computer system is a “Google ASUS Nexus 10” retailing for exactly £349.99.

The man who leaked it — Twitter user Rage06 — claims the image was taken by him at the PC World where we assume he is employed. According to him, PCWorld wouldn’t list the device unless it was all but official, citing an occasion where he also tipped off the newly refreshed Google Nexus 7 (2013). Still no word on storage size, but at that price, it could be limited. Anyone interested in an ASUS-made, Google Nexus 10?

  3. Interesting.

  4. I hope that they include the keyboard dock

    1. Yeah, that would be appreciated. But the Nexus line often doesn’t get those nice perks. I wish I had more options for my N10. Still a great device regardless.

      1. Google is weird like that. One their first go around with a product, they don’t put out accessories like they should. Look at the Nexus 7 OG, and even the Galaxy Nexus

  5. It could just be a typo by some data entry lackey who doesn’t know an iphone from an eight-track. But hey, it’s Nexus-rumour season, my favourite time of year. :)

  6. Don’t understand the comment about the price and it being limited. That is around the price of the Nexus 10 over in the UK right now.

    1. Pricing is almost exactly the same as the current model was expecting a higher price with more base storage.

  7. Limited? Limited how? Like not many of them or constrained tech-wise? I don’t think it would be since Google has been pushing for all Snapdragon processors in their phones/tablets. If they (ASUS) got the Nexus 7 with a 1080p screen out for $230 minimum, I don’t see any reason why they couldn’t pull off a slightly bigger tablet with a higher-res screen. Other than that, I never found the Nexus 10 all that worthy of purchase when pitted against the Nexus 7.

    1. Limited storage space. Hoping they’ll go with 32GB/64GB options this time around.

    2. The nexus 7 is too small to me. I’ve owned both and always find myself using my phone instead, and I end up picking up an iPad 2 that I won a few years ago when I need a bigger screen than my phone. Really sad bc the new nexus 7 is way better than an ipad2. I’m hoping this nexus 10 finally stops me from picking up the iPad, lol

    3. I did. I own both. My favorite Android experience to date is still to be found on my Nexus 10. Gorgeous 10″ screen, great performance and front facing speakers.

  8. Would have to wait to see what kind of specs it ships with.

  9. I much prefer Asus as manufacturer. My OG Transformer is still kicking and I could use some new hardware.

  10. I got my Nexus 7 2013 32 GB model. I am happy with that. Good to see Google stuck with the same OEM for both the 7 and 10. I don’t need the 10 since the 7 does everything I need and it is a great value/cheap price.

  11. well don’t expect the touchscreen to work properly

    1. My new N7 is still paying up despite the promised fix. 4 times I’ve had the touchscreen completely stop responding until I forced a hard reboot.

  12. I love Asus, especially the motherboards.

    1. Maximus V Formula R O G

    2. Yes, pretty sure that’s the Samsung. I’m hoping the new Nexus 10 looks more like / more consistent with the Nexus 7.

      1. I just hope that they put speakers on the front. I am not sure why this does not happen more?

        1. Amen to that. Surely it must be just as simple to do?! Whenever phones or tablets include front facing speakers everyone says how much better it is and yet it’s still pretty rare. Unfortunately the Nexus 7 doesn’t, but hopefully on the bigger version!

          1. Not only that, if you are out and about, at a Cafe, or somewhere you want to hear something, it would be more pleasant to the other patrons if only you could hear what’s coming through. Take Youtube, how can I watch it if I am listening to it with the back of the device to my ear?

  13. Once they don’t go with Tegra, I’m good.

  15. i have been looking at a new tablet for a while now so a decently price nexus would be right up my alley!

  16. Will have to wait to see the specs but I’m sure they’ll be top-notch and I’ve wanted the Nexus 10 for so long so I’ll be picking this up the week it comes out for sure!!! Oh and just FYI…GTA V ROCKED MY SOCKS OFF LAST NIGHT!!! BEST GAME EVER!!

  17. I wish Google would introduce the Nexus 5 and 10 already…

    1. October is right around the corner.

  18. Google release a version with a stylus along with stylus functionality.

  19. Yes, definitely! I’ve been holding off on buying a new tablet until the new Nexus 10 was revealed. The Nexus 7 2 looks to be an outstanding tablet but I’d really prefer more screen space of a 10″ tablet. I’ll be replacing my iPad2 if this new Nexus 10 really appears for this holiday season with good specs.

  20. it looks to be in 4:3 ratio
