#ThroughGlass: Zookeepers, Disneyland, and NFL punting, oh my! [VIDEO]

3

With Google Glass looking to be available to consumers by early next year, tons of different folks are seeing just how useful they could be in their everyday lives. We’ve seen folks play tennis, throw and catch footballs, and even perform minor surgeries with Google Glass. The #ThroughGlass movement is ramping up, and even more scenarios are starting to be explored.

The latest involves Oakland Raiders punter Chris Kluwe, zookeepers, and Disneyland!  To start, the aforementioned boot man shot a video of him returning a kick-off. Kluwe admitted that he was the world’s slowest return man, and his speed was even sadder when you consider there were no men flying at him to take him down. That’s forgiven, though, because he gets paid to punt.

While we didn’t get any kicking action from the man himself, he did let world class placekicker Sebastian Jankowski boot one through the uprights with the glass on. Life through a kicker’s eyes doesn’t look very… interesting, but perhaps that would be different if it were during an actual game.

Next up, the folks at Australia’s Taronga Zoo in Sydney got a chance to play with the units as they cared for the many different animals they work with. Patrons can’t get quite as close to most of these animals as the zookeepers can, so it’s interesting to be able to see them interacting with the animals and being able to see it from their perspective.

Finally, Disneyland! This one is especially interesting to me, as I have always wanted to go to Disneyland (or even Disney World). I probably won’t be able to get there to see it for some time, so it’s interesting to see little bits and pieces through someone else’s eyes. None of this will compare to getting the real experience for yourself, of course, but it’s about as close as we can ask for. Go ahead and watch all these videos above and below.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

There are helmet cams that are 10x better.
If this is all GG has got then as I keep saying, $29.95 is an appropriate price.

    1. these are dev versions so low quality parts compared to final build and on top of that NO helmet cam is as easy to wear through ought the day as these are… if you want to look like a complete mental case and wear a helmet cam to record your experiences be my guest but these are awesome
